The movements you will be instructed to explore impact powerful pelvic and low-back muscles, as well as spinal extensors. In doing them, you need to be free of pain. Otherwise, you could very well aggravate any existing condition.
Uprighting courses are not intended as a remedy for any pain you may be experiencing in the present. They are designed to help prevent pain in the future by teaching students to sit and stand in a manner that promotes long-term motor efficiency and health.
If at any time while engaging the material you experience pain, you should stop immediately and not resume until the pain is gone.
